Male's burrow revealed by plaster of paris cast. At upper right is the horn that broadcasts the calling song upward. Bulb at base of horn increases the efficiency of sound production as the male calls, tail outward, with its pronotum in the bulb and with its raised stridulating forewings filling the throat of the horn (Walker & Figg 1990).
